Why You Need a Spa Treatment Post-Crisis

Restore Stressed Skin

Now that we’re smack in the middle of 2020, we’re still all finding ourselves adjusting and trying to adapt to this new normal, with no idea as to when it would be over. Perhaps where you are, businesses are opening up and things are sort of returning to how they were before. For a lot of people, however, many places remain closed or only partially open, including the place you go for your spa treatment. The virus continues to rage even as we all grow tired of staying inside. But it’s not forever.

If you’ve been taking care of yourself and practicing self-care, you’ve probably continued to look after your skin, hair, nails, etc. Yet there are also those of us who have put a pause on those needs out of necessity. Not everyone can treat skin, fix hair or give themselves a proper mani/pedi. If you have neglected certain areas of self-care, you might even be craving a spa treatment. There’s no shame in that at all. Returning to normal and doing all the things we used to do will perform wonders for our collective mental health. We believe in self-care and we especially believe in taking excellent care of your skin.

You might find that your skin has become dull or that your anxiety over everything that has been going on has stressed out your skin as well. Stressed skin often appears fatigued, but it can also become inflamed and breakout. Stress exacerbates breakouts in many instances. If you’ve noticed more breakouts, especially on the chin and along the jawline, this could absolutely be a result of heightened levels of stress in the body. You might also find that you have more blackheads, because you haven’t been getting regular extractions. Even if you haven’t experienced those problems, you might simply want a spa treatment to feel more rejuvenated and relaxed. Once you’re ready and treatment centers are back to work, we recommend getting a chemical, oxygen or enzyme skin treatment.

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel utilizes alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy acids to unclog pores, remove dead skin cells and brighten the appearance of dullness or dark spots. A brightening treatment can target manifestations like age spots, lightening them by a shade or two to reveal a more even-toned, luminous-looking complexion.

A combination of glycolic acid and retinol can also help reduce the general appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as overall dullness. Glycolic acid and retinol combined can also help reduce the appearance of blemishes. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that helps exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. Retinol is also known for these characteristics of helping to remove dead skin cells and boost cell turnover for a healthier, more youthful-looking face. A peel using a beta hydroxy acid like salicylic acid can be used to help decongest pores for a more clarified complexion.

Oxygenating Peel

The oxygenating O2 Lift can help renew skin and make it glow for an instantly brighter look. This treatment also infuses plant-derived stem cells, peptides and enzymatic botanicals into the skin. These powerful ingredients help reduce the appearance of signs of aging like fine lines, and also help plump up and brighten. The after-effect is that your skin looks far less dull and feels rejuvenated. The Spotlight Treatment, on the other hand, helps reduce wrinkle appearance and helps brighten thanks to vitamin C, fruit enzymes and hyaluronic acid. Vitamin C is a potent ingredient that can brighten the look of skin and make wrinkles appear less noticeable. Hyaluronic acid helps plump up the appearance of wrinkles thanks to its ability to retain 1,000 times its weight in water.

Enzyme Peel

Fruit enzymes are known for their ability to exfoliate. They work by breaking down the protein keratin so that dead surface skin cells can be sloughed away. Popular fruit enzymes used in skincare include bromelain (derived from pineapple) and papain (derived from papaya). As the keratin protein is broken down, it helps reveal brighter, healthier skin underneath. An enzyme peel can also utilize other ingredients like vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to boost brightening effects and plump up fine lines, respectively. You can begin to notice results even after just a single treatment.
