From February 1st to February 15th 2018 the Care for Skin Foundation will be traveling to Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma) to operate on small children with cleft lip and palates, skin deformities, burn contractions as well as burn scars. The Care For Skin team expect to be able to operate 6-8 patients per day. Surgeries will be performed at the Mandalay General Hospital, while the team will be supported by local hospital staff members, nurses and anesthesiologists. “It is with great pleasure to announce our next upcoming trip to Myanmar in February and we are excited to put the money we raised over the last 9 months to good use” stated Dr Ronert at a recent event and further: “Our mission is to help children in need of wherever skin is missing or needed and without having the financial means to pay for these sometimes simple and short procedures. Our goal is not only to help these little kids in need, but also educate local physicians to eventually be able to do these procedures on their own.”
